Supporting Fulbright Iceland
Did you know that taxpayers in Iceland can make a tax-deductible donation between ISK 10.000 and ISK 350.000 each calendar year to Fulbright?
Fulbright Iceland is now using a new system for those who want to support the Commission’s goal of providing opportunities for Icelanders to study and do research in the U.S. Now you make an individual donation or sign up for monthly contribution directly through our website:
At the end of each calendar year, we provide tax authorities with information about your donation that will be entered on your next tax return.
Example: An individual who donates ISK 2.500 monthly gets an ISK 11.400 tax credit and thus only pays ISK 18.600 for 30.000 donation.
All donations are earmarked for Icelandic students and scholars and is used for grants and grant supporting activities only, not for operating expenses.
U.S. taxpayers who wish to support the Commission, the simplest way to make a tax-deductible donation is through our charitable fund, which is housed at the Institute for International Education (IIE). Click here to donate. We are grateful for any donation that our well-wishers are able to make. Please be assured that all donations are used for program costs only.
All supporters of Fulbright Iceland are listed in the Commission’s annual report, but it is possible to request anonymity.
