Seventeen incoming U.S. grantees attended the annual fall orientation session in early September. The group received essential information about the Fulbright program, a crash course in everything Icelandic and learned what to expect and how to prepare for the year ahead in Iceland. They also heard from outgoing Vice-Chairman of the Board Páll Melsted about the academic environment in Iceland and Fulbright alumna Sydney Fox gave the new grantees tips about how to adapt to life in Iceland.

The U.S. Ambassador welcomed the incoming grantees by inviting them for a visit to the Embassy in September. There they had the chance to meet Embassy staff, ask questions and discuss their projects.

The monthly grantee enrichment for the past months have included a nature walk in Eilliðarárdalur valley, a tour of Iceland Ocean Cluster, an Advent concert and a visit to Althingi, the Icelandic Parliament, where the grantees had the opportunity to sit down with MP Hanna Katrín Friðriksson for coffee and
