Applications are now open for Fulbright grants for study and research in Iceland for the 2027–2028 academic year.
New: Deep Drilling Research Grants for U.S. Scholars
Fulbright Iceland is excited to introduce two brand new scholar grants in deep drilling research, connected to IDDP-3 (Iceland Deep Drilling Project) in cooperation with Reykjavík Energy and other partner institutions. This is an opportunity for scholars to participate in an innovative initiative and contribute to ongoing research projects during their stay in Iceland. New: Teaching Grants in Ecology and Psychology

U.S. Student Awards
Fulbright Iceland offers three different types of U.S. student awards to study or conduct research in Iceland: Fulbright-NSF Arctic research awards for Ph.D. and post-master’s students, a Fulbright-Ministry of Culture Award to study modern Icelandic and Fulbright Open Study/Research awards for degree-seeking students and independent research at Icelandic institutions.
