Gróðursetning og sælustund 24 maí // Tree planting & happy hour May 24

Félag Fulbright styrkþega á Íslandi hefur undanfarin ár staðið fyrir gróðursetningu í Fulbright skóginum í Heiðmörk. Markmikið að gróðursetja tré fyrir hvern styrkþega Fulbright stofnunarinnar á Íslandi frá upphafi, sem eru um 1700 frá árinu 1957, en nú hafa 1045 tré verið gróðursett.

Laugardaginn 24. maí mun verða gróðursett í þriðja sinn og býður FFSí fyrrverandi og núverandi styrkþegum um að leggja til hönd og taka þátt í að stækka Fulbright skóginnn.

Mæting er í Heiðmörk á bílastæðið við Vífilsbúð kl. 15 (Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tQbyzaTDXtu13n6T9).

Þau sem ætla að mæta eru beðin um að láta vita senda póst á [email protected].Þau sem vantar far eða geta tekið farþega með eru beðin um að hafa samband á [email protected] eigi síðar en 15. maí.

Eftir gróðursetninguna verður Fulbright Happy Hour á SKY Bar kl 17. Allir félagar FFSÍ eru velkomnir að mæta í happy hour hvort sem þeir komast í gróðursetninguna eða ekki.

The Fulbright Alumni Association in Iceland has been planting trees in the Fulbright Forest in Heiðmörk for the past few years. The goal is to plant a tree for each grantee of the Iceland-U.S. Educational Commission, but they are about 1700 since 1957. So far 1045 trees have been planted.

On Saturday May 24 will be the third time the alumni association organizes a tree planting and invite former and current grantees to help expand the Fulbright forest.

We will meet in Heiðmörk at the Vífilsbúð parking lot at 3 PM (Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/tQbyzaTDXtu13n6T9).

Those who plan to attend are asked to email [email protected]. Those who need a ride or can take passengers to Heiðmörk are asked to contact [email protected] no later than May 15.

After the tree planting there will be Fulbright Happy Hour at SKY Bar at 5PM. All alumni are welcome to attend the happy hour whether or not they can participate in the tree planting.
