Dr. Andriy Danylenko giving a talk at the University of Iceland

The Fulbright Inter-Country Travel Grant (ICTG) offers Icelandic institutions a simple and cost-effective way to bring U.S. Fulbright Scholars who are currently based elsewhere in Europe to Iceland for short academic visits, lectures and collaboration. For the 2026-2027 academic year, over 200 U.S. scholars are in Europe and available for collaboration in a variety of academic fields, such as biology, chemistry, engineering, law, medical sciences and more. Visit our website for the full list of available scholars and information on how to apply for a ITCG visit.

In the spring semester, Dr. Andriy Danylenko, Professor in Russian and Slavic Studies at Pace University and Fulbright Scholar to Poland, visited the University of Iceland School of Humanities. During his stay he gave two lectures, one on linguistic colonization in Ukraine and another on Slavic slaves in Early Medieval Andalusia and North Africa, both of which attracted faculty, students and members of the public. He was also interviewed by Professor Jón Ólafsson on the Ukrainian Project Podcast, which you can listen to here.
