Congratulations to Fulbright alumni elected to Althingi

Iceland held parliamentary elections Saturday September 25th. We are proud to note that three members of parliament from three different parties have received Fulbright student grants from Fulbright Iceland, Björn Leví Gunnarsson (Pirate Party), Guðmundur Ingi Guðbrandsson ( Left-Green Party) and Lilja D. Alfredsdottir (Progressive Party). Further, thirty out of sixty three members are women, or 48%, are women, making this the highest percentage of female parliamentarians in Europe.
